I am just about 35 weeks along now and can't wait to meet this little guy! We have finally decided on a name...Carson Scott Price. Makenna can't wait either and won't stop giving my belly hugs and kisses every chance she gets. I am so incredibly grateful and lucky to become a mommy again and I count my blessings every day.

This was me at about 26 weeks.

I am finally getting around to posting Christmas Pictures! We had a great Christmas this year! Makenna asked Santa for a sled, dress ups, and a movie this year. She sure makes things easy for Santa! Here are some pictures of our holiday season...

DISNEYLAND!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we took Makenna on her first trip to Disneyland. She was so excited and I have to say, it is so much more fun when you have kids! All I can say is Makenna is quite the dare devil. She went on every possible ride she could and was in tears because she was to short to ride Indiana Jones and Screamin'. But, her favorite ride was Tower of Terror and Thunder Mountain. I was a little bummed that I couldn't ride a lot of the big rides with her because I am pregnant, but it was worth seeing her having so much fun. Here are quite a few pictures of our trip...

The first thing that happened on our drive there was Makenna lost her second tooth. Good thing we brought her tooth fairy pillow!

We stayed at the Howard Johnson Hotel just down the street from Disneyland. This was a fun Pirate water play area they had for the kids.

This was so fun! They had a show and taught the kids how to fight with their light sabor. Here is Makenna fighting off Darth Vador!

In fact there was a guy in line next to them warning Dallin that this ride might be too much for Makenna, but Dallin had to tell him that she was the one dragging him along.

We spent one day at Newport beach. It was the most perfect day and was nice and relaxing!

Denver...

I had the chance to go on a girls trip to Denver to visit my aunt Susan for the weekend. We did some shopping, jewelry making, game playing, and a lot of chatting. I was so ready for a break from everything and to just hang out and relax with these fun girls...

Makenna turns 6!!

Oh my, I really cannot believe Makenna is 6 years old. She is such a sweet happy girl and we are so blessed to have her in our lives. This year Makenna wanted a "tea party" for her birthday. We invited over 12 of her friends and she had a great time. We played a few games, decorated place mats, got fancied up by painting nails and dressing up, and then we had our tea party. We had ham and cheese and pb&j sandwiches, fruit, mini cupcakes, and mini donuts, and of courst birthday cake!

Here is Makenna's tea pot birthday cake. I was a little nervous about how it would look, but it turned out better than I expected!

This is Makenna on her actual birthday. We took her to dinner with my parents and Alise and Kaylee and then they all came over to watch her open her presents. Makenna was so spoiled this year. She got some new dress ups and new clothes, but best of all she got a trip to DISNEYLAND! I think it took her until the next day for it to sink in that we were actually going to take her to Disneyland!

Makenna got a Minnie Mouse outfit with a note that said "We are going to Disneyland!" This is her reading that note. Happy birthday Makenna, we love you!

First lost tooth

Makenna lost her first tooth on October 2nd. If you know Makenna, she freaks out at the sight of blood and is not very pain tolerant. So as you can see from the first picture, she was traumatized. She had a slightly loose tooth for a couple of weeks and on this day was playing "doggy" with Dallin. She put a stuffed animal dog in her mouth and was shaking it around and that's when her tooth became really loose and started to bleed. There wasn't much we could do to calm this girl down. For pretty much the rest of the day the held a washcloth in her mouth. Finally the next day I looked at her tooth and it was literally just sitting in her mouth. She put a tissue in her mouth and next thing we know it comes right out of her mouth. At this point she was jumping up and down with excitement. She was so excited that it finally came out.

Piano Recital

Makenna had another piano recital back in September. I was so sad that I forgot to take my camera, so here she is at home practicing her 2 songs. The first one is called "Music Box" and the second one is called "Brisk March".

Student of the month

Makenna is loving Kindergarten. When you ask her her favorite thing about Kindergarten she will tell you "learning". Back in September Makenna's teacher nomitated her from her class as student of the month. They had a program with students from the other classes and their parents. The principal read to them a tribute that their teacher wrote about them and presented them with a certificate as well as a bunch of free kids meals to some yummy restaurants. Good Job Makenna!!

Here is just some of our garden produce this year. We had an over abundance of peaches from our peach tree this year. I would say we had at least 800 peaches. I ended up canning 52 quarts of peaches, made three peach pies, lots of peach jam and peach raspberry jam, and gave a lot away!

Makenna has been counting down the days for this moment all summer! Yesterday was her first day of Kindergarten! She is so ready for it so I was excited for her too! I got to go with her for the first 45 minutes to spend some time with her doing some fun activities before we had to say our goodbyes. She smiled and waved as I walked out the door! What a sweet girl. She is excited that she gets to go every day. Here are a few pictures on her first day...

A Big Surprise for Makenna...

Yep, that's right!! I am having a baby! We are so excited! We have been waiting a really long time for this moment to come! I am due on March 4th. I am about 11 weeks right now and hoping to be feeling better soon. The last few weeks have been really rough, but the outcome will be so worth it!

Makenna's Piano Recital

Makenna had her piano recital last Monday. This time it was a Patriotic Recital. Makenna's solo piece was "Yankee Doodle" and she also did a duet with her teacher. They played "This Land is Your Land." All of Makenna's practicing sure paid off because she did an awesome job.

Memorial Day

This year was the first year I have ever gone to put flowers on graves for Memorial Day. We went to visit my sweet Grandma Ballard who passed away just a year ago. I miss her so much! We also went to visit Dallin's Grandma and Grandpa who I had never even met. We told Makenna to introduce herself to them because of course they had passed away long before she was born. She was so cute, she sat down in front of the grave and said "I am Makenna Marie Price, my daddy is Dallin, and my mommy is Trisha." It was so sweet!

Butterfies!

For Easter my mom gave Makenna a Butterfly Garden. You send away for caterpillars that come in the mail and you watch them grow until they form a cocoon and eventually turn into butterfies! It was so fun to watch them grow! After they had turned into butterflies we decided to let them go in the garden! Makenna held one of them on her finger for a long time before it finally flew away!

Pre-School

Makenna is an official pre-school graduate! Kindergarten, here she comes and she couldn't be more excited! Here are a few pictures of Makenna and her pre-school friends at a few of the field trips we had throughout the year (at least the ones where I remembered to bring my camera).

For Mother's Day, Dallin and Makenna got me this fun outdoor lounge chair and side table. I walked out of my room that morning and it looked like a picture out of a magazine so I had to snap a picture. Thanks Dallin and Makenna for a great Mother's Day!

My Birthday...

Well it has been almost 3 months since my birthday, but I thought I would post a few pictures anyway! I had a great day. It turned out that Dallin ended up taking the day off of work and played Mr. Mom while I finished up working. He did all my chores including getting Makenna ready and doing her hair. Later he sent me shopping while he and Makenna got my "party" ready. I came home and they surprised me with a pizza party and a new bike!

The Big 3-0!!

Exactly one month ago my handsome hubby turned 30! Makenna really wanted to surprise him so we decorated the house and had a little surprise party when he got home from work. Afterwards we went to Cafe Rio (Dallin's all time favorite place to eat) for dinner where I had all of Dallin's friends meet us there to help celebrate his birthday. I think he was quite surprised to see them all there. Happy Birthday Dallin!

Christmas Festivities (Better late than never)

I finally found the chord to my camera so it's about time I post some pictures of Christmas! We had a fun Christmas this year...

We had a Christmas party at Grandma Price's house and Santa showed up. Here is Makenna telling him what she wants for Christmas.

Makenna got another pillow pet from Grandma Price. This time a lady bug. This is Makenna and her cousin Kailey.

We had another Christmas party at Grandma Ballard's house. This is our nativity story with all the cousins dressed up. Makenna was Mary, Matt was Joseph, Maren was the Angel, Kaylee was baby Jesus, and Collin...the pet dog!

Every year around Christmas time we get together with all of our High School friends. This year we had everyone over to our house. We had everyone bring a dish from around the world. We ended up having Brazilian food, Venezuelan food, Thai food, Australian food, Mexican food, and American food. Everything turned out so yummy!

We played a little rock band and had a present exchange. It was a lot of fun!

On October 12th my baby girl turned 5! Wow, I can't believe how fast time is going and how big she is getting. She is a fun, smart, happy little girl and I can't imagine life without her. I am so blessed to have her in my life.

Makenna got a scooter and jewelry box with beads to make necklaces for her birthday from me and Dallin.

Makenna was so excited for her birthday this year. She wanted a ballerina birthday party. So I was busy making tutu's for all of her guests.

Makenna has been begging for about the last 6 months to go to Chucky Cheese's. We decided to surprise her and take her there for her birthday. We took her cousin Kailey with us. She was so excited when we got there. I think it was a great birthday surprise!

Honey, Honey, and more Honey...

Our bees worked hard for us this year! We ended up getting 4 gallons of honey! We weren't really expecting to get much. They say usually your first year you don't get anything. You have to leave the bottom two boxes full of honey for the bees to survive over the winter and the rest is ours! We actually got about 8 gallons of honey, but our deal was to split our honey with the guy helping to take care of our hive. It is super yummy!

Here are some of the peaches from our tree this year. They were so much bigger than in years past, I think the bees may have had something to do with that!

We were busy one Saturday bottling peaches. I am hoping we get more grapes this year so we can bottle more grape juice!

Preschool

It has been well over a month now but I thought I would post pictures of Makenna on her first day of preschool and a few of her preschool field trips. We are doing the neighborhood/joy school thing again this year. There are six kids in the group and we each take a turn having preschool at our house. We also go on a field trip about once a month. The kids have a lot of fun together!

Herriman Fire

On Sunday night as we were driving home we noticed the mountain right in the backyard of our home was just glowing with fire. As we got closer to home we could actually see the flames and smell the smoke. It was scary not knowing what would happen. They evacuated over1200 homes in the area. We were only a few blocks away from the nearest evacuation point. Luckily we never had to evacuate. What a crazy night. We were outside in the backyard with our neighbors just watching the fire burn until 1:00 in the morning. Amazingly, only 3 homes were destroyed. I thought it would have been much more. The firefighters did an awesome job! These pictures were taken right from our backyard...

Dallin took this footage from the front yard of our backyard neighbors. We thought this home would have been destroyed for sure. Luckily the fire fighters showed up just in time and saved it.

I took this footage from our backyard right when we got home so the fire looked a lot worse later into the night, but I wanted to post it because if you listen carefully you can hear Makenna narrating and she was just cracking me up.

So about a year ago I tried straitening Makenna's hair and we just got a good laugh out of it. Well I thought maybe I would try again and here are the results...

This is what her hair looked like after I blow dried it. Holy Cow it looks just like mine! She looked at herself and said, "I look sassy!"

This is after I straitened it. Still it looked a little silly. Makenna looked in the mirror and said, "I don't look like Makenna." I just had to laugh!

It looked a lot better after I put it in pig tails. At least she's cute with curls!!

Meet my new niece, Kaylee!

On July 23, 2010 my cute little sister had her baby girl. Kaylee Violet Bingham was 9 lbs. and 20 1/2 inches long. On our way up to Idaho we were able to stop in and meet her! Isn't she so adorable!!

Makenna loved holding her! She said to me, "I only got to hold her a little, daddy held her medium, and you are holding her way too long." So I had to give her up and let Makenna have another long turn!

She has been such a good little baby, Congrats Alise!!

Island Park!

We got back a few weeks ago from our annual trip to Island Park, Idaho. Dallin's Grandpa has a cabin up there so us and his whole family spend a weekend there every year. Here are some pictures of our trip doing our usual stuff every time we are there.

Coral Pink Sand Dunes

It has been almost a month ago now but we were able to go down to Coral Pink Sand Dunes for the weekend. My family has done this every year since I was young. We had a great time camping and riding the ATV's.

Baby Shower

A few weeks ago we had a baby shower for my sister Alise. She will be having a baby girl in July. We are all so excited for her. Makenna was so excited to come with me to the baby shower. After everyone started to show up and we were all just visiting Makenna says to me "All you do at a baby shower is talk?" It was really funny, I guess these grown up parties just aren't as fun. I think she did have a good time though!

Zions and St. George

A few weekends ago we decided to go down to St. George and Zions just to get away and do something fun. We left early Friday Morning and spent the day in St. George. We also visited a ghost town called Grafton. I have ancestors who are from Grafton. On Saturday we spent the day in Zions. We went on a few hikes. It was way fun and Makenna did awesome! Every time I ask Makenna what the funnest part of the trip was, she tells me "swimming at the hotel!" I think we could have done that all day and she would have been happy!

Bees...

About a month ago we officially became owners of a new pet...bees! Dallin has been so excited for them. We have talked about getting a beehive for a long time and it finally happened. My dad was nice enough to let us use his beehive and we got the bees about a month ago. They are doing really well, keeping busy!! Hopefully they will help out with the garden and flowers and we will get some honey!

Here is our garden so far this year. Hopefully the snow the other day didn't totally kill it off. We have planted radishes, beets, lettuce, onions, corn, zucchini, cucumbers, lemon cucumbers, basil, cilantro, peas, tomatoes, and peppers. We also planted cantelope, watermelon, and pumpkins but I think we may have lost them from the snow.

My Sweet Grandma

On May 4, 2010 my sweet Grandma left this earth to go HOME. She has been suffering the last little while and I am happy she is now in a much better place. I am going to miss her so much, but I am thankful that I have so many memories of her. She was the most loving person you could ever meet. She genuinely loved everyone around her, especially her family. She would quite often call me just to say hi and to tell me that she loved me. I will never forget those phone calls. Just a couple of months ago she sent Makenna a card in the mail. All it said was "Grandma Ballard loves you." I could tell she struggled to write it, but it just shows how much she loves her family. I love you Grandma, you will be greatly missed!

Violet Vivian Hicks, our wonderful wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma, went home to our Heavenly Father May 4, 2010.She was born December 20, 1921 in Rural Retreat, VA. Married Merlin W. Ballard on December 17, 1945 in Wythville, VA where he was discharged from the Navy and then brought her to Salt Lake City, Utah where he was from. She was a convert and devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church and her family were her life. She was all about loving, serving and doing for others. Always there for everyone! Therefore much loved by all. She served in every capacity in the Church from Relief Society Pres, Service Missionary, serving a mission in Australia with her husband, to teaching primary at age 80 and those children loved her so. Genealogy was her hobby, being a convert to the Church it was so important to her. She is survived by her husband Merlin W. Funeral services will be held at the Hillcrest 5th Ward, 915 East 9045 South on Sat., May 8th at 12:00 p.m. Viewing will be held the morning of the service from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Makenna's Piano Recital

On Monday night Makenna had her very first piano recital. She played two songs, "London Bridge" and "Scotland's Burning." She did an amazing job and seemed so confident while she was up there performing. Way to go Makenna!! Here are some pictures at the recital hall...

A Fun Easter

We had a good Easter this year. Makenna ended the day by saying, " I had a fun Easter!" On Saturday we went to Grandma Ballard's for and Easter Brunch and party for the kids. Then on Sunday we had our Easter Egg hunt at Grandma Price's house.

Here is Makenna on Easter Morning. It looks like the Easter Bunny showed up. She was spoiled with WAY too much candy. Every year the Easter Bunny brings Makenna a new movie. This year it was The Princess and the Frog.

A few Saturdays ago we decided to ride trax and hop on to Front Runner and take a ride up to Ogden. We really had no idea what we were going to do when we got there, but we mainly just wanted to take Makenna on the train ride. Well it turned out to be a fun day. When we got off Front Runner in Ogden we were able to go check out Ogden's Union Pacific Railroad Station. They had a few trains there that you could actually get on and check out. We thought it was pretty fun!! Here are a few pictures...

A few weekends ago we went to Moab with some friends. They were nice enough to let us borrow their Jeep. I don't think I have ever been to Moab when there has been snow on the ground, but it turned out to be fun. Here are a few pictures of our trip. (Thanks again Ben and Kim for the fun trip!!)

Happy Birthday to the best husband ever! Yesterday was Dallin's 29th birthday. Wow, we sure are getting old. I am so thankful for Dallin and everything he does for me and Makenna. Makenna couldn't ask for a better Daddy! We decided to surprise Dallin when he got home from work with balloons, presents, treats, and of course dinner to Cafe Rio!! I hope he had a great day!

A few weeks ago I signed Makenna up for a ballet class through Jordan School District. She has taken this class before and loved it and has been begging for a long time to sign her up for ballet again. Finally the day came when she got to go to her first class. So I just realized that I have been slacking on posting our latest happenings, so here it goes...

For Makenna's pre-school we do a neighborhood/joy school where we have a group of 7 kids and we each take a turn having pre-school at our house. We also do field trips every month. Our first field trip was to Kneaders. They gave us a tour around the bakery, showing all thier giant mixers and ovens. We even got to go inside the walk in fridge and freezer which the kids thought was pretty cool. After our tour each kid got a cookie to frost!

Makenna's first airplane ride!!

A few weeks ago we had a girls trip to Denver. Me, Makenna, my Mom, sister, aunt, cousin and her baby, and grandma all went to stay with my aunt who lives there. This was Makenna's very first time on an airplane and she was sooooo excited. She was all smiles the whole way and kept waving out the window saying, "I'm waving at daddy!" Anyway we had a fun time for a few days just visiting, shopping, and jewelry making!!

Pre-school and Piano Lessons...

Makenna is going to be a busy little girl. She just started pre-school this week. I can't believe how fast time flies and my baby is already in pre-school. We also started Makenna in piano lessons last week. At first I thought she might be to young, but she actually is doing really well and surprises me every day by the things she remembers.

We just got back from our annual trip to Island Park, Idaho. Dallin's Grandpa has a cabin up there so we go up every year with his family.

Our visit to Idaho...

Last week Makenna and I got a chance to go visit my sister up in Weston, Idaho. We went with my Mom, Sister-in-law, and niece and nephew. On our way up we stopped at Treehouse Museum in Ogden. It was a lot of fun for the kids. When we got up to Idaho, the kids (especially my nephew Matt) were so excited to see the farm, where my sister lives. We got to stay the night and spend the day together. Thanks Alise for such a fun time!!

Strawberries & Peas!!

Well, we had a really good crop of strawberries this year. I'm so happy about that cuz strawberries are my favorite thing to get from the garden! I went out to pick a "few" strawberries the other day and I had to keep sending Makenna inside to get another bowl cuz they were filling up so fast. Not only that but I picked about this many the week before. I ended up making a few batches of strawberry jam.

We also had a pretty good crop of peas. Dallin and I spent the other night taking all the peas out of the pods so that we could freeze them for future use!!

Our road trip down the Oregon coast...

We spent last week driving down the Oregon coast!! What a beautiful drive. We started by driving up to Portland and staying there the night. The next morning we started driving down the coast stopping at a ton of beaches along the way. We also stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory and got to watch the process of packaging the cheese. That night we stopped in Bandon which is near Bollards Beach and we stayed in a yurt for 3 nights. If you are wondering what a Yurt is, it is like a deluxe tent with power, heat, and beds. (See the pictures below). They were actually really fun to stay in. Basically for these 3 days we just went to a few different sites and then to beach after beach, which Makenna thought was the best part. And of course we came home with a bucket full of seashells. After staying in our yurt, we were off to finish driving the Oregon coast and then into California....The Redwoods!! Wow, what an amazing drive! We have never seen anything like it. That night we stayed in Sacramento, then we were on our way home the next morning. This was such a fun experience, nothing like anything we have done before. We ended up driving about 2300 miles-Crazy. Makenna actually did really good, I just had to come prepared with activities and movies. We will definately have to do this again!

Memorial Weekend...

This last weekend we decided to go camping with some friends, Becky, Spencer and their son Lincoln. We went down to Capitol Reef and to Goblin Valley. The weather was actually pretty nice. The temperature was perfect, not too cold at night. I was worried we would get rained out, but it wasn't too bad. The first night it only sprinkled on us for a few minutes, and we left Goblin Valley a little early cuz it started hailing and then raining. We ended up playing games in the tent that night cuz it started raining on us again, but it was still fun! Thanks Becky and Spencer!

The other day for play group we decided to go to Wheeler Farm. It was a fun day with friends!!

We had a fun Easter this year. It all started on Saturday with a fun Easter party at my moms house. We had a yummy breakfast then my mom had some fun games and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. On Easter morning Makenna was excited to find that the Easter bunny had come!

It's time to start the garden again!! Makenna was just as excited as Dallin. She helped him plant carrots, radishes, lettuce, and cabbage. Dallin planted the peas a few weeks ago. When the weather gets warmer we are also going to plant corn, tomatoes, zucchini, basil, peppers, pumpkins, and cucumbers.

Here is Makenna sprinkling the seeds into the soil. We may be getting carrots in random places.

So the last couple of months I got REALLY tired of my plain bedroom so I decided to paint! I painted one wall blue and the rest tan. Well I just can't decide if I like the blue wall. What does everyone think? Should I paint it the same color as the rest of the room? Anyway, I did Makenna's room a while ago too so I thought I would post a picture of her room too! Her room was the first time I have ever painted before. Now I am thinking of doing the rest of my upstairs. Dallin's only request is that he doesn't have to have anything to do with it. (He absolutely HATES painting!!)

Today is Dallin's 28th birthday! Makenna and I decided to make him cookies today since he doesn't like cake so much. Not a whole lot has been going on around the Price home, so I thought I would post a few random pictures just for fun...

This is princess Makenna. This is the outfit she would wear 24/7 if I let her.

Makenna found Mommy's boots and just had to try them on...she couldn't even walk.

A few weekends ago we took a small road trip to Vernon, Utah and found a school playground for Makenna to play on. Then we found these big sleds and thought why not give them a try!

Yeah!! I finally got some shelves in my cold storage room so I got to organize some of my food storage so that its not all over the floor. Eventually we will get more shelves for the rest but this works for now!

This is Makenna's "afro" as I call it. She definately got her mothers hair! I decided to fluff it up a bit and take a picture!

We had a wonderful Christmas and Santa definately found our house! Makenna woke up very excited to see that Santa had come to visit. He didn't forget what he was to bring her either...she got her bubbles, glass slippers and princess dresses along with a few other things.

I took Makenna to see Santa yesterday. She was sooooo excited. While we were waiting in line she would say about every two minutes, "I want to sit on Santa's lap." We finally made it through the line and when Santa asked her what she wanted she said "bubbles". That should be easy enough! He asked her if she wanted anything else and of course she had to say "glass slippers and a princess dress." Hopefully she's been a good girl this year!

Wow, life has been crazy lately and has left me no time for blogging. I have finally found an extra minute to tell everyone that I am still alive. I have just been really busy lately with work. I have basically been working full time all while taking care of Makenna at the same time. I was excited to finally have last Saturday off work, it was the first time in over a month to get the weekend off. Needless to say my house is a disaster and I havn't even started my Christmas shopping. Oh well, I am just thankful that I get to work from home so I can be with Makenna.

I am excited to have my brother Jeff come live with us for a little while. It will be just until he gets his house. He has had an offer on a home that is in foreclosure so it has just been a really long process. In the meantime he will be hangin' out with us! Makenna is exited to have uncle Jeff stay here!

We had a fun Halloween this year. The day before Halloween my Mom had a Halloween Party for Makenna and her cousins Matt and Maren. We had a spooky dinner, then the kids played a few fun Halloween games, decorated cookies, and then went trick-or-treating around the house to different rooms. They had so much fun.

Maren is dressed as Tinkerbell, Matt is Buzz Lightyear, and Makenna is a Witch.

If you know my Mom, then you know that she goes all out. Here is the Spooky dinner she made. We had Mummy dogs (Pigs in a blanket made to look like a mummy), witch fingers (string cheese with a dried mango as the fingernail), eyeballs (deviled eggs), and a dressed up brownie for dessert.

Our little princess, Makenna, turned three on Sunday! I can't believe how fast time goes by. It seems like just yesterday she was born and now she is turning three. She is such a sweet little girl who brightens our life each day. I can't believe how much she has learned in her short three years. I always say to her, "You're so cute" and she will say to me, "No, I'm not cute, I'm beautiful!" I can't imagine life without her!

She has been so excited to have her birthday party. We invited over our family and had a fun birthday celebration on Saturday night. I asked her what kind of birthday cake she wanted and she requested Hello Kitty! So, that's what I attempted to make and I think it turned out pretty cute. Makenna requested pizza for dinner, then we ate cake and ice cream, and then opened presents. (Makenna's favorite part of the night!) What a fun birthday!

Opening presents

Makenna got a new baby doll that laughs and cries and moves it's head and arms. This is Makenna and her cousin Matt getting a good laugh every time the doll would shake its head! It was pretty funny.

Makenna was spoiled this year. Here she is with all her new birthday toys. She got a new table and chair set from Grandma and Grandpa Ballard, a cute cash register to play store with from Grandma and Grandpa Price, a Barbie and coloring book from Brandon, Aimee, Matt, and Maren, some fun books and puzzles from Great Grandma Davis, and her baby doll with accesories from Mom and Dad. Oh, and Alise and Dale gave her that cute outfit she is wearing when they were here last weekend!

I saved a few presents for her to open on her actual birthday. She got some new clothes for herself and some new clothes for her baby doll!

Pumpkins Anyone?

So our garden turned out to be one big pumpkin patch this year. We ended up getting 27 pumpkins! It all started with what we thought were a bunch of zucchini plants that sprouted up from last year. Well it turned out that they weren't zucchini after all. Yep, they were all pumpkin plants. No zucchini for us this year. They started spreading like crazy that eventually I could barely even walk in the garden. I didn't expect this many, but once we started picking them there just seemed to be more and more. So if anyone needs any pumpkins, come on over!!

Makenna's first ballet class

Makenna has alway said "I want to take ballet some day." Well that day finally came. I signed Makenna up for a ballet class and yesterday was her first day. She absolutely loved it! It was hillarious to watch as she tried to follow along. Although I have to admit she is pretty good at twirling on her tippy-toes.

Girls Weekend Out!!

This last weekend Me, my mom, sister, cousin, aunt, and grandma all flew out to Denver to visit my other aunt that moved out there a couple of years ago. We had a blast! We basically just went shopping, stayed up late playing games every night, had lots of yummy food and just hung out! We sure had some gourmet meals which my uncle made for us. We also went to Cheesecake factory, Yummy! This was the first time I had ever left Makenna for more than one day, which was hard but it was fun to just relax.

Fun at the Fair

On Tuesday night Makenna and I went to the Fair with our friends Kim and her daughter Libby. We had so much fun. We were able to see Veggie Tales on tour. The girls had a blast, especially dancing to all their songs. Then we went and saw all the animals which they were fascinated by. I think we all had a fun girls night out! (Thanks for inviting us Kim) :) This is Makenna and her friend Libby. The only way I could get a picture of them together was to have them pull a funny face.

Last weekend we decided to take Makenna to Wheeler Farm. We packed a lunch and spent the afternoon checking out the animals and just hanging out. It was lots of fun.

Makenna loved feeding bread to the ducks, but she couldn't resist taking a bite herself once in awhile.

I don't think a day goes by when Makenna doesn't make me laugh. She has quite the imagination and definately expresses herself. I thought I would share the funny things she has been doing lately...

This is how Makenna likes to dress when she is "Going to space". Don't ask me how she comes up with these ideas.

Lately Makenna won't go to bed without sleeping in a "tent". So our new bedtime routine is making her a "tent" out of blankets for her to sleep under. And believe me, she won't let us forget it either!

Here are the sunflowers that Makenna planted with Daddy's help at he begining of summer. She was so excited when they finally blossomed! They are even taller than Daddy! These pictures were actually taken a couple of weeks ago and so they are now dying. This morning Makenna said to me "What happened to my sunflowers?" and I told her they were dying and she said, "I don't want them to go to heaven with Jesus, I want them to stay with me." I couldn't help laughing even though she was seriously on the verge of crying. Silly Makenna!

It has actually been a couple of weeks now, but Dallin and I just celebrated our 6th anniversary! I can't believe how time flies. We have had a wonderful six years together and I could not ask for a better husband and father for Makenna. I am so lucky to have him! On our anniversary Dallin took me to dinner at The Roof at temple square. We had the most awesome view of the temple at sunset.
The next day we decided to take a short road trip to Manti, just for fun. We drove up Maple Canyon there, then went and walked around the Manti temple. Makenna thought it was pretty fun to run down the big hill. We had lunch at The Malt Shop, Yummy! Then we found a fun park for Makenna to play. She loved the tire swing and didn't want to get out! What a fun day!

We just got back last week from Idaho! This is our annual trip we take every summer with Dallin's side of the family. His grandpa owns a cabin in Island Park, so we all head up there for fun at the lake. We decided to to take a different route this year for new scenery. We ended up driving up through a few small towns in Montana. We stopped in Virginia City to check it out. It's a small town with little shops in really old buildings and all the people working in the shops were dressed up like pioneers. One of the shops Makenna made us stop at was of course, the candy store! We then headed through Earthquake Lake area which was really pretty. Once we got to the cabin, the next few days were just having fun swimming in the lake, boating, water skiing, and of course Big Birtha!
We also went to the rodeo one day. This was Makenna's first time at a rodeo so she thought it was pretty cool. When we got there we kept seeing horses and all she wanted to do was ride on one of the horses. When the rodeo first started she was all woried because the horses were bucking the people off their back. We had to tell her it was just a game, then she was fine. We always have fun when we go up to the cabin and we look forward to going again next year!
