Our road trip down the Oregon coast...

We spent last week driving down the Oregon coast!! What a beautiful drive. We started by driving up to Portland and staying there the night. The next morning we started driving down the coast stopping at a ton of beaches along the way. We also stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory and got to watch the process of packaging the cheese. That night we stopped in Bandon which is near Bollards Beach and we stayed in a yurt for 3 nights. If you are wondering what a Yurt is, it is like a deluxe tent with power, heat, and beds. (See the pictures below). They were actually really fun to stay in. Basically for these 3 days we just went to a few different sites and then to beach after beach, which Makenna thought was the best part. And of course we came home with a bucket full of seashells. After staying in our yurt, we were off to finish driving the Oregon coast and then into California....The Redwoods!! Wow, what an amazing drive! We have never seen anything like it. That night we stayed in Sacramento, then we were on our way home the next morning. This was such a fun experience, nothing like anything we have done before. We ended up driving about 2300 miles-Crazy. Makenna actually did really good, I just had to come prepared with activities and movies. We will definately have to do this again!

We stopped at a few waterfalls on our way to Portland. This is me and Makenna at Horsetail Falls.

This is at Multnomah Falls.

Makenna found this hollow tree and climed right in.

This is Makenna's very first sight of the Ocean.

Me and Makenna at Cannon Beach.

Dallin enjoying the beach.

This squirrel definately was not shy. We had some peanuts and he would come right up to us and take them right from our hands...

Even when we ran out he would beg for more.

This is the Coquille River Lighthouse. We got to go inside to the very top.

Me and Makenna climbing the steep stairs to the top of the Lighthouse.

This is our Yurt!!

Inside our yurt, playing games.

Our sandcastle we made at Bullards beach.

Look at all the starfish we found.

Dallin and Makenna. Notice all the starfish stuck to the rock right behind them.

We were walking down the beach when we noticed these Sea Lions laying out on the rock in the water. It's kind of hard to see them in the picture, but they were fun to watch. There were a few of them swimming around in the water.

We went and bought a kite to take to the beach. Here is Makenna and Dallin trying it out.

We went to Charleston and walked around the docs.

Our family at the Beach.

The Redwoods!! Look at how big these trees are....

This tree's name is "Big Tree." I wonder why?!

Memorial Weekend...

This last weekend we decided to go camping with some friends, Becky, Spencer and their son Lincoln. We went down to Capitol Reef and to Goblin Valley. The weather was actually pretty nice. The temperature was perfect, not too cold at night. I was worried we would get rained out, but it wasn't too bad. The first night it only sprinkled on us for a few minutes, and we left Goblin Valley a little early cuz it started hailing and then raining. We ended up playing games in the tent that night cuz it started raining on us again, but it was still fun! Thanks Becky and Spencer!

This is Goblin Valley. Makenna had fun climbing on all the interesting rocks. It was a perfect place for her to play "house."

This is us at Goblin Valley.

Posing for the camera!!

Makenna and her buddy Lincoln. Every time I ask Makenna what the funnest thing she did while camping she always says, "Play with Lincoln."

Daddy and Makenna hiding out in the rock.

Me and Becky on our hike to Hickman Bridge.

THIS IS SO FUNNY.....

Makenna and I love Taylor Swift and listen to her CD's all the time, therefore Makenna has a lot of her songs memorized. Well, while we were packing up our camp Dallin turned on Taylor Swift in the car. Makenna found a flashlight that she used for a microphone and was singing along...

Fun at Wheeler Farm!

The other day for play group we decided to go to Wheeler Farm. It was a fun day with friends!!

This is Makenna and her best buddy Haylee. They sure have some fun times together!

Mom and Makenna at Wheeler Farm.

This was seriously the biggest pig I have ever seen! Her name is Dalilah.

Makenna thought it was pretty funny when the pigs were rolling around in the mud!

Makenna and her friends just after feeding the ducks. I guess all the ducks took off when we ran out of bread to feed them!

Temple Square in the Spring!

A few weekends ago we decided to go to Temple Square. It was fun to walk around and see all the beautiful flowers. It seems like the only time I ever go to Temple Square is to see the lights at Christmas. It was also nice to walk around without it being below freezing outside!
Here are a few cool shots Dallin got of the Temple.

Makenna and Mom

Makenna loves to smell the flowers.

This is a picture of Makenna watching the blossoms falling off the tree as Dallin was shaking the branches.

Makenna wanted to go inside the Temple so bad.

Just the three of us!!

Happy Easter!!

We had a fun Easter this year. It all started on Saturday with a fun Easter party at my moms house. We had a yummy breakfast then my mom had some fun games and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. On Easter morning Makenna was excited to find that the Easter bunny had come!
He brings her a new movie every year and this year it was Shrek.

Makenna was soooooo excited to wear her new Easter dress. Here she is showing it off!

Makenna and her Easter basket.

The Easter bunny left some eggs for Makenna to find.

This is the Easter egg hunt at Grandma's house!

Where is the yellow Easter egg? Makenna was looking right at it but still couldn't seem to find it.

My Gardeners!!

It's time to start the garden again!! Makenna was just as excited as Dallin. She helped him plant carrots, radishes, lettuce, and cabbage. Dallin planted the peas a few weeks ago. When the weather gets warmer we are also going to plant corn, tomatoes, zucchini, basil, peppers, pumpkins, and cucumbers.

Here is Makenna sprinkling the seeds into the soil. We may be getting carrots in random places.

Just trying out the garden tools!

Here is the finished product. Hopefully the garden will do well this year!
