Happy Birthday Makenna!!

Yesterday was Makenna's 4th birthday! Wow I can't believe how fast time flies. Makenna is such a fun little girl with a great personality and imagination. We are so happy to have her in our family! We had a fun weekend of parties and celebrating...

Here is our family the day Makenna was born, October 12, 2005.

Our sweet baby girl!

Happy birthday Makenna! Makenna insisted on a Princess Birthday Party this year. I decided to make a castle cake and I think it turned out pretty cute

We took Makenna to the Zoo for her birthday. Here we are with the giraffe's which Makenna was begging to see the whole time we were there.

Playing Catch Up...

So I just realized that I have been slacking on posting our latest happenings, so here it goes...

For Makenna's pre-school we do a neighborhood/joy school where we have a group of 7 kids and we each take a turn having pre-school at our house. We also do field trips every month. Our first field trip was to Kneaders. They gave us a tour around the bakery, showing all thier giant mixers and ovens. We even got to go inside the walk in fridge and freezer which the kids thought was pretty cool. After our tour each kid got a cookie to frost!

Here is Makenna and her friend Haylee frosting their cookies.

Makenna's delicous cookie!

Makenna's first airplane ride!!

A few weeks ago we had a girls trip to Denver. Me, Makenna, my Mom, sister, aunt, cousin and her baby, and grandma all went to stay with my aunt who lives there. This was Makenna's very first time on an airplane and she was sooooo excited. She was all smiles the whole way and kept waving out the window saying, "I'm waving at daddy!" Anyway we had a fun time for a few days just visiting, shopping, and jewelry making!!
I'm so sad this picture turned out so dark, but this is Makenna on the airplane. She insisted on having the window seat.

Makenna reading me the emergency information they have in the airplane.

Me, my cousin, and sister. (Nice smile Alise) :)

Here is almost all of us.

So yesterday I thought I would try straightening Makenna's hair just for fun. Well, it didn't turn out very well and me and Dallin had a good laugh. At least her hair looks cute curly!!

Pre-school and Piano Lessons...

Makenna is going to be a busy little girl. She just started pre-school this week. I can't believe how fast time flies and my baby is already in pre-school. We also started Makenna in piano lessons last week. At first I thought she might be to young, but she actually is doing really well and surprises me every day by the things she remembers.

Here is Makenna with her new back pack ready for her first day of pre-school!

Posing for the camera!

Makenna with our new piano. So one requirement for piano lessons of course is to have a piano. So we ended up finding this one on KSL for a good deal. Makenna was so excited!

She loves to play me "beautiful songs"

Tomatoes, Tomatoes, Tomatoes...

Here is a picture of what we picked from our garden last weekend, and this is AFTER making 4 batches of salsa!

Island Park...

We just got back from our annual trip to Island Park, Idaho. Dallin's Grandpa has a cabin up there so we go up every year with his family.

Swimming with Daddy.

Me and Makenna ready for a ride on "Big Birtha".

Makenna was loving it and kept wanting to go faster!

We went to the Island Park Rodeo and they had a cattle run where kids 8 and under got to go and chase a calf to try and pull the ribbon off its tail and win a prize. It was pretty funny to watch. Makenna is the one in the back with the blue shorts and pink and orange shirt running towards the cow.

Of course you need a cowboy hat for the Rodeo.

Grandma Price brings crafts for all the kids. Here is Makenna's masterpiece.

Dallin and Makenna dipping their feet in the cool water.

We went to West Yellowstone one day. Here is Makenna giving a giant teddy bear a hug.

Our visit to Idaho...

Last week Makenna and I got a chance to go visit my sister up in Weston, Idaho. We went with my Mom, Sister-in-law, and niece and nephew. On our way up we stopped at Treehouse Museum in Ogden. It was a lot of fun for the kids. When we got up to Idaho, the kids (especially my nephew Matt) were so excited to see the farm, where my sister lives. We got to stay the night and spend the day together. Thanks Alise for such a fun time!!

Aren't these three kids the cutest!

Makenna hanging out on the tractor.

Makenna wanted a picture with the cows!

The kids had fun sliding down the slide and catching the bar, they were pretty good at it too!

This is such a fun swing set. It is big enough for us grown-ups too!

Going shopping at IFA. Matt had to have his Jon Deere T-shirt and Makenna looked so cute in the pink cowgirl hat!

Strawberries & Peas!!

Well, we had a really good crop of strawberries this year. I'm so happy about that cuz strawberries are my favorite thing to get from the garden! I went out to pick a "few" strawberries the other day and I had to keep sending Makenna inside to get another bowl cuz they were filling up so fast. Not only that but I picked about this many the week before. I ended up making a few batches of strawberry jam.

We also had a pretty good crop of peas. Dallin and I spent the other night taking all the peas out of the pods so that we could freeze them for future use!!
